U.K. singer-songwriter Pete Molinari released his new album, Just Like Achilles, today. Produced by Linda Perry and Bruce Witkin, this is Molinari’s fifth studio album and first released via We Are Hear, the combination label / publishing / management company Perry co-founded with fellow multi-platinum producer Kerry Brown.To download/stream Just Like Achilles, click HERE.
Regarding his album, Molinari said “as a kid I always loved Greek Myth and the story of Achilles, which in a way, is in all of us. That huge strength that we somehow seem to muster up from a well deep within us even when we expect it not to be there. We can be surprised how much we can endure…and yet it’s always accompanied with that Achilles Heel. That element of doubt or just being mortal.”
To celebrate the release of Just Like Achilles, Molinari shared a special compilation video today featuring an all-star group of musicians who joined him at the legendary Capitol Records’ Studio A in Los Angeles to record live versions of several songs off the album.
Artists featured include Don Was (Rolling Stones, Bonnie Raitt, John Mayer),famed keyboard player Mike Garson (David Bowie, Smashing Pumpkins, Prince), The Wallflowers’ Jakob Dylan, actress/musician Evan Rachel Wood, and The Ronettes’ Ronnie Spector. Was and Garson, along with drummer Joey Waronker (Beck, R.E.M., Roger Waters) are also featured on the track “Absolute Zero” off the album.
